Ms. Apfel studied at JLU from 2013 to 2019 and received her veterinary license in the same year. She then worked at the JLU Clinic for Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians, and Fish, where she began her further training as a specialist veterinarian for ornamental, zoo, wild, and commercial poultry and started a doctoral project in the field of poultry medicine. In 2021, she took over Germany-wide consulting and control in the field of commercial poultry for the German Animal Welfare Association (Deutscher Tierschutzbund e.V.). Since 2022, she has been responsible for birds, exotic animals, and radiation protection as a specialist consultant. At the same time, she works as a veterinarian and consultant in the university team at TVD Finanz GmbH & Co. KG. Here, she also passed the recognized proficiency examination as a certified insurance broker in accordance with § 34d GewO (German Trade Regulation Act). In addition, she acquired the qualification as a certified insurance broker (IHK Wiesbaden) in 2022 and will complete her training as a practice manager in 2025.

Alice Becker is an experienced practice manager and veterinary assistant. Her professional focus lies in the organization and development of veterinary practices, combined with in-depth knowledge of quality, personnel, and practice management. She currently works as a practice manager at the Center for Veterinary Dentistry and also provides virtual support to practices in the veterinary medicine sector. In addition to her practical experience, she possesses expertise in targeted marketing and building sustainable client and team relationships.

Dr. Beate Bosch studied veterinary medicine at the University of Leipzig from 1999 to 2005 and subsequently worked there as a research assistant. At the same time, she completed a residency in the field of diagnostic imaging from 2008, with stays at the Vetsuisse Faculty and the University of Pretoria. In the same year, she was appointed a specialist veterinarian for small animals and pets. In 2009, she received the "Best Oral Award" at the 15th meeting of the International Veterinary Radiology Association in Brazil. After obtaining her doctorate in 2011, she specialized further in radiology, became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) and was recognized as a specialist veterinarian in radiology and other imaging techniques. She has worked as a radiologist at AniCura Ravensburg for several years and has also worked as a freelancer for Vet-CT and Vet-Rad-Consult.

Dr. vet. med. Ursula Breuer is a veterinarian with an additional qualification in animal behavior therapy. After studying agricultural sciences, she studied veterinary medicine until 1990. She obtained her doctorate in 1992 and founded her own veterinary practice in the same year, specializing in the field of animal behaviour therapy from the outset. She focuses on dogs and cats. She also offers individual training with problem dogs as part of her own dog school. In 2000, she was officially awarded the additional title of Animal Behavior Therapy. In addition to her practical work, Dr. Breuer is an active speaker and has published several books on the subject of dog behaviour, including Hundeverhalten - erkennen und verstehen (2006), Die Hundeschule: Komm zu mir! (2008) and Die Hundeschule: Gastfreundlich?! (2012), all published by Müller-Rüschlikon Verlag Stuttgart.

Dr. Theresa Conze studied veterinary medicine at the universities of Budapest and Leipzig. After graduating, she initially gained practical experience in a small animal practice in Leipzig before moving to Justus Liebig University Giessen to work at the Clinic for Reproductive Medicine and Neonatology. There she headed the small animal department and deepened her specialization in reproductive medicine. Dr. Conze is a specialist veterinarian for biotechnology and reproductive breeding hygiene and a Diplomate of the European College for Animal Reproduction (ECAR). From 2021, she worked at Tierklinik Dinkelsbühl GmbH, specializing in reproductive medicine and soft tissue surgery. During this time, she also founded Reprovet, a consulting service for veterinarians and breeders. In addition, she completed further training to become a "Fear Free Professional", a concept for stress-free veterinary treatment. She has been working at the Segringen veterinary practice since 2025, where she looks after gynecological, andrological and neonatal patients. 

Dr. Dorothee Dahlem studied veterinary medicine at the University of Leipzig and held several scientific positions at the university clinic for small animals. As part of her doctorate, she investigated echocardiographic reference ranges in golden retrievers. From 2009, she completed her specialist veterinary training for small animals and pets, followed by a residency in internal medicine (ECVIM-CA). She has been a specialist veterinarian for small and companion animals since 2014 and a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine - Companion Animals (ECVIM-CA) since 2018. She worked at Justus Liebig University Giessen as a research assistant and from 2017 to 2019 as a senior physician in internal medicine. Since then, she has headed the Department of Internal Medicine at the Veterinary Clinic for Surgery and Small Animals in Ettlingen (Dr. Oliver Lautersack). In 2021, she was also recognized as a specialist veterinarian for small animal internal medicine.

Prof. Dr. Franck Forterre, Dipl. ECVS, has been Clinic Director and Head of the Department of Surgery at the Small Animal Clinic of the Vetsuisse Faculty Bern since 2019. As a proven expert in the field of neurosurgery, he is the author of numerous publications, book chapters and a sought-after speaker at international specialist congresses. He completed his veterinary training from 1987 to 1991 at the faculty in Toulouse, France. He then worked at the Department of Small Animal Surgery at LMU Munich from 1991 to 1998, initially as a doctoral student and later as an assistant. From 1998 to 2005, he worked as a senior physician for neurosurgery and surgery at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Small Pets at the Free University of Berlin. Since 2005 he has been part of the surgical team at the Vetsuisse Faculty in Bern.

Marc Figge currently works at Dr. med. vet. Thiele-Fischer's small animal practice, where his focus is on cardiology. He also specializes in dermatology and related soft tissue surgery. He completed his master's degree at the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno (Czechia). During his studies, he gained practical experience as a research assistant in the bacteriology department of the Clinic for Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians, and Fish at Justus Liebig University in Giessen. In 2023, he completed an internship focusing on surgery at the veterinary practice in Speller Hafen. In addition, he has been working as a moderator for webinars since 2021 and as a speaker himself since 2024.

Rebecca Galli is a trained veterinary assistant and has been working at the Ravensburg Small Animal Health Center since August 2023. There, she supports the team in the treatment and care of small animals, in diagnostics, and in the operating room. She is familiar with state-of-the-art technology such as imaging procedures (e.g., X-ray, ultrasound) and the routines of consultation hours and emergency services.

Dr. Nina Gasparik-Küls is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia and has been Head of the Department of Anaesthesia at the Veterinary Clinic in Vienna since July 2023. After studying at the University of Veterinary Medicine Giessen, she initially worked as an assistant in veterinary clinics in Canada and Germany before completing an internship at the Equine Clinic of the VetmedUni Vienna, where her interest in anesthesia was awakened. This was followed by a residency in anesthesia at the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh. After returning to Vienna in 2015, she worked as a lecturer at VetmedUni Vienna for several years. In addition to her clinical work, she regularly gives specialist lectures and webinars on topics relating to anesthesia and analgesia in veterinary medicine. She is also active as a lecturer at training courses and is involved in the training of veterinarians and veterinary assistants (TFA).

Dr. Arne Güssow studied veterinary medicine in Giessen and received his doctorate shortly thereafter. After working as an assistant and senior physician in internal medicine, he completed his residency to become a Diplomate ECVIM CA. From 2023 to the end of June 2025, he worked at the Niederwerrn group practice and then returned to his training facility. Today, he is a senior physician and a sought-after training instructor for ultrasound, endoscopy, and internal medicine topics. He is also the author of numerous specialist articles.

Dr. Nikola Heblinski studied veterinary medicine at the Free University of Berlin, where she worked as a doctoral student and research assistant at the Institute of Veterinary Pathology. This was followed by an internship at the Small Animal Clinic in Augsburg and work as a veterinarian in various clinics and practices in Germany and at the Hollabrunn Veterinary Clinic in Austria. From 2015 to 2018, Dr. Heblinski completed her surgical residency program at the Hollabrunn Veterinary Clinic and the Evidensia Spezialistdjursjukhuset Strömsholm in Sweden. In 2019, she was recognized as a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS). She then worked as a surgical specialist at two prestigious institutions in Sydney, Australia. Since 2022, Dr. Nikola Heblinski has been working independently in her own practice: Small Animal Surgery Berlin, where she offers highly specialized surgical procedures on small animals in the greater Berlin area.

Sonja Hegel combines veterinary expertise with extensive experience in marketing and sales. After studying veterinary medicine at JLU Giessen, she first gained practical experience in equine practice and then worked for IDEXX in sales for over five years – most recently as area manager for a team of 10. During this time, she got to know around 1,000 veterinary practices and gained deep insights into their processes and challenges. In 2020, she founded the specialist blog LISCA.vet, which gave rise to the agency LISCA.vet Praxismarketing in 2022. Today, she advises veterinary practices on customer communication, marketing, sales, and social media, developed the SocialMediaVet Bootcamp, and, as a podcaster on the FutureVetBusiness Podcast, she highlights future topics in the veterinary industry.

Dr. Inken S. Henze completed her studies in veterinary medicine at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Zurich, followed by an initial assistantship at the Kaufungen Veterinary Clinic. This was followed by an internship and a position as an assistant veterinarian for anesthesia, emergency, and intensive care medicine at LMU Munich. From 2019 to 2022, she completed a combined residency and doctoral thesis in veterinary anesthesiology at the University of Zurich Veterinary Hospital. In 2022, she completed a research stay at St. George's University in Grenada and continued to work as an ECVAA board eligible assistant veterinarian at the Zurich Veterinary Hospital. She then held a management position at the Small Animal Clinic of the TiHo Hannover Foundation. Dr. Henze currently works at SASH – the Small Animal Specialist Hospital in Sydney, where she contributes her broad clinical, scientific, and international experience in veterinary anesthesia and pain management.

Dr. Nicolai Hildebrandt, Dipl. ECVIM-CA (cardiology), arbeitet als Oberarzt der Abteilung für Kardiologie der Klinik für Kleintiere (Innere Medizin) an der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (JLU). Er fertigte seine Dissertation (Transvenöse Embolisation des PDA (< 4.0mm) mit einem singulären Coil beim Hund) in Gießen und erwarb den Titel eines Fachtierarztes für die Innere Medizin der Klein- und Heimtiere, sowie eines Diplomate für Kardiologie des European College. Besondere Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind die Diagnostik und Therapie angeborener Herzerkrankungen bei Hund und Katze, Herzrhythmusstörungen inklusive der Implantation von Herzschrittmachern, sowie die Diagnostik kardialer Erkrankungen bei Heimtieren. Dr. Hildebrandt ist zudem regelmäßig als Referent auf Fachkongressen tätig und engagiert sich in der Weiterbildung angehender Kardiolog:innen.

Dr. Madeleine Himmele is a specialist veterinarian for horses. She studied and earned her doctorate at Justus Liebig University in Giessen. She has been working at a private equine clinic since 2018. Her work focuses on internal medicine for horses.

Dr. med. vet. Alexandra Knipf studied veterinary medicine at the Free University of Berlin and at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. After completing her dissertation and working at the Institute for Animal Welfare and Behavior at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, she initially worked in several small animal practices and a small animal clinic before becoming an official veterinarian in the field of animal welfare and animal health. For many years, she has had a particular interest in animal welfare, behavioral therapy, and holistic care for dogs. She acquired additional qualifications in animal welfare and animal behavior therapy (dogs) and completed the ATF advanced training series in animal behavior therapy as well as phytotherapy courses A to D. She also trained at the Vierbeiner Reha-Zentrum in the field of physical and rehabilitative medicine for small animals. Since 2022, she has been running the practice for canine behavioral medicine and physiotherapy, which focuses on the connection between behavior, mobility, and animal welfare. In addition to her work at the practice, she is regularly involved in the training of veterinarians and veterinary assistants.

Dr. Norbert Langen studied in Antwerp and Giessen, where he also earned his doctorate. He worked for many years at the University of Giessen as a senior physician in surgery and was most recently head of orthopedics there until he moved to the private sector at the end of 2023. Since then, he has been chief veterinarian and head of orthopedics, surgery, and neurosurgery. He is a specialist veterinarian for small animal surgery and has additional qualifications in small animal neurology. He is also a member of the AO Vet Friends Association. He is a regular speaker at seminars and lectures on surgery with a focus on orthopedics and neurosurgery.

Dr. Maria Melchert is a Diplomate of the European College of Animal Reproduction (ECAR) and an expert in the field of veterinary reproductive medicine. She is a postdoctoral fellow at the Clinical Center for Reproduction at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna. There she is dedicated to the clinical care of animals with reproductive problems as well as to scientific research on reproductive techniques, hormonal regulation mechanisms and the improvement of diagnostic and therapeutic methods in animal reproduction. She is also active in teaching and training and supports the education of students and specialist colleagues in the field of animal reproduction.

Dr. Eva Saskia Müller is a specialist in anesthesia, pain management, and intensive care medicine and is a senior consultant at the AniCura Specialist Center for Small Animals in Ahlen. She completed her studies at Justus Liebig University in Giessen, where she earned her doctorate and then worked as a veterinarian and senior consultant at the Small Animal Clinic. Dr. Müller has extensive additional qualifications, including the European Certificate of Advanced Studies in Anaesthesia, Pain Management, Emergency and Critical Care (ANAE-ECC), a postgraduate degree in emergency and intensive care medicine from the University of Melbourne (GC-SAECC), and certification as a RECOVER Rescuer for life-saving emergency measures in traumatology and emergency medicine. In addition to her clinical work, she regularly gives specialist lectures and webinars on topics related to anesthesia and analgesia, as well as traumatology and emergency medicine. She is also active as a lecturer in continuing education and is involved in the training of veterinarians and veterinary assistants.

Dr. med. vet. Isabelle Ritz is a specialist veterinarian for small animal surgery with additional qualifications in dentistry for small animals and pets. She studied veterinary medicine at the Free University of Berlin and the École Nationale Vétérinaire d’Alfort (ENVA) in France, graduating in 2010 with a license to practice. In 2015, she received her doctorate from Justus Liebig University Giessen on the role of matrix metalloproteinases in feline gingiva, with a special focus on resorptive lesions. From 2010 to 2016, she worked in small animal surgery at Justus Liebig University Giessen, followed by five years at the Dr. Trillig Veterinary Clinic in Obertshausen. In 2021, she joined the Bernhard Lenhof Veterinary Practice. Since March 2023, she has been the owner and manager of the Fachtierarztpraxis am Schaumberg veterinary practice.

Dr. Bianca C. Schwarz, DipECEIM, is a Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine. After completing her studies and doctorate, she worked in a mixed practice, completed an internship in London and a residency at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna. She then headed the Department of Internal Medicine at an equine clinic, where she later became a partner. Her main areas of expertise are respiratory diseases, endocrinology and muscle diseases.

Tina Schäfer is a trained veterinary assistant (TFA) and has been a certified veterinary anesthesia technician (VAT) since 2017. After completing her training at the Clinic for Equine Surgery at the University of Leipzig, she worked for four years at an equine clinic in Switzerland before spending three years at the Clinic for Small Animal Surgery at the University of Zurich. This was followed by five years as a senior anesthetist at a small animal clinic in Switzerland and three more years in a senior position at a small animal clinic in Ludwigsburg. In 2022, she founded the company "Isi Anesthesia for Animals", with which she contributes her many years of experience in veterinary anesthesia.

Kathrin Siemer studied animal management in the Netherlands and then began working at the newly founded Lüsche Horse Clinic. She worked there for over 22 years as a clinic manager at the executive level and was responsible for numerous projects in Germany and abroad, including the clinic's successful quality management certification. In the course of her professional development, she increasingly specialized in employee management and personnel development and also completed training as a business coach. In addition to her work at the clinic, she founded the Vetnetz purchasing association and initiated the Federal Association of TPM, on whose board she is an active member. Kathrin Siemer has been fully self-employed for a year and supports veterinary practices and clinics in the areas of practice management consulting, coaching, and through lectures and seminars. Her focus is particularly on employee management, communication, strategic corporate management, quality management, and organizational development.

Nadja Sigrist is a specialist veterinarian for small animals and an internationally recognized expert in emergency and intensive care medicine. She studied and earned her doctorate at the University of Bern and obtained specialist titles in Europe and the USA (ACVECC, ECVECC). After holding senior positions at the Vetsuisse faculties in Bern and Zurich, she founded her own training company, "VET ECC CE," in 2021. In addition to numerous publications, she is the editor of the reference book "Emergency Medicine for Dogs and Cats."

Steffen Skopp has been working in strategic marketing and corporate development for many years. After earning his degree in engineering and an MBA in Executive Management & Strategic Marketing, he spent eight years as a product manager at Leica Camera AG, where he played a key role in the development and marketing of innovative products. This was followed by six years as Head of Marketing at Boinx Software, focusing on international software marketing. At the same time, he founded several online start-ups and headed the CRO agency klartext&tacheles as Head of Conversion. He also taught marketing with a focus on branding at the THM Business School and gained international experience at trade fairs, product launches and PR trips. As a certified NLP Master, he combines strategic marketing with methods of personality development and communication. He has been part of LISCA.vet Practice Marketing since 2024, focusing on strategic marketing for veterinary practices and contributing his practical knowledge to the training of veterinary assistants.

Dr. Amelie Spiess studied veterinary medicine and completed an internship at the CTK of the LMU. She gained several years of experience in small animal practice in England and the Middle East. She completed a one-year small animal internship and a specialized ophthalmology internship in the USA. She has been working as a veterinary ophthalmologist in Munich since 2008. She has had her own practice since 2019.

Dr. Stefanie Peters studied and earned her doctorate at Justus Liebig University in Giessen. From 1987 to 2021, she worked at the Birkenfeld Veterinary Clinic, most recently as head veterinarian of the dermatology/allergology department. Since 2021, she has been head of the Dermatology and Allergology Department at the AniCura Veterinary Clinic in Trier. She is a founding member of the German Society for Veterinary Dermatology (DGVD), a long-standing member of the ESVD, and obtained her ECVD Diploma Part I in 1998. Dr. Peters is the author of numerous dermatological publications and textbooks, a reviewer for several veterinary journals, and the ESVD Practitioner Grant. She is also an examiner for the additional qualification in dermatology at the Baden-Württemberg Veterinary Association.

Dr. Anna Trillig is a specialist veterinarian for small animal surgery and has been senior physician for surgery at the Dr. Trillig Veterinary Clinic in Obertshausen since 2022. After studying veterinary medicine at LMU Munich and receiving her license to practice in 2013, she completed an internship and worked as a research assistant in the surgical and gynecological small animal clinic at the same university. She earned her doctorate there and took on the position of senior physician for surgery in 2018. In 2020, she earned the title of "Specialist Veterinarian for Small Animal Surgery," worked in Oberhaching until 2022, and also earned the official additional designation of ENT for small animals. She is a member of the DVG in the Surgery and Wound Management Specialist Group and the ESVOT.

The coach, speaker and online trainer Rainer Triebe has been working for many years as a committed speaker with a focus on the Ordinance on Trainer Aptitude (AEVO). His career began in 1982 as a trainer at Deutsche Telekom. He has been a lecturer at the DHBW since 1984 and a trainer for managers and communication since 1989. After his time as training manager at Mettler-Toledo (1994-1997), he worked as a speaker for the IHK until 2018. Since 2003, he has been producing learning content via his own platforms, including for management seminars. He also works as a speaker at the Chamber of Crafts, particularly in the context of master craftsman training and as an online trainer.

Anna Lena von Fircks is a specialist veterinarian for internal medicine in small animals and has been working as a senior physician for internal medicine for several years. After studying veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, she completed an internship at the Small Animal Clinic in Ahlen. She then continued her career in internal medicine and took on the position of senior physician. She is currently undergoing specialist training for the additional qualification "Neurology in Small Animals" in order to further deepen her area of expertise.

Dr. Jörg Wackes studied veterinary medicine at Justus Liebig University in Giessen and received his veterinary license in 1989. As part of his studies, he also completed a study visit to the Veterinary School at the University of Cambridge (UK). From 1989 to 1992, he worked as a practice assistant and completed his doctorate in veterinary medicine during this time. This was followed by a clinical assistantship from 1992 to 1997, followed by specialist veterinary training, which he completed in 1997 with recognition as a specialist veterinarian for small animals and pets. He also set up his own practice in 1997. At the same time, Dr. Wackes completed extensive further training in the fields of surgery, endoscopic procedures, dentistry, and laser medicine from 1993 to 2016 and continues to participate regularly in intensive training courses in Germany and abroad. His areas of expertise are orthopedics, soft tissue surgery, and bone and joint surgery, supplemented by endoscopy and dentistry. He is also an active member of the German Veterinary Medical Association (DVG) and several DVG specialist groups, including those for small animal medicine, surgery, veterinary dentistry, laser medicine, and wound management.

Constantin Wenning has been Deputy Head of Quality Management at Klinikum Wilhelmshaven gGmbH since April 2024. Prior to this, he was Managing Director of Kleintierklinik Frankenthal GmbH and Symbiose GmbH/vetQM GmbH. Since 2014, he has also been working as an independent management consultant and workshop leader in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In addition, he is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Neu-Ulm and a speaker for veterinarians and veterinary assistants. After completing his shortened training as a veterinary assistant, he gained extensive practical experience in a management position – first at the Dr. David & Dr. Krützfeldt veterinary practice in Frankenthal, then at the Dr. Horst Schall small animal clinic in Ludwigshafen. He then completed his studies in veterinary medicine at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, passing the preliminary medical examination, and a distance learning course at the University of Applied Sciences of the BFI Vienna, graduating with an MBA in Business Psychology. He is also a certified clinic manager (Kleintierklinik Frankenthal GmbH).

Prof. Dr. med. vet. Dick White is a globally recognized expert in soft tissue surgery and oncological surgery in animals. He was one of the founders of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons and is a founding fellow of surgical oncology at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. After more than 25 years in clinical teaching, he founded Dick White Referrals in 2003. He has received numerous national and international awards for his significant contributions to veterinary medicine. Prof. Dr. White has published extensively in professional journals and books and has held numerous academic and administrative positions. He is also Chief Medical Officer at MeikoVet. His areas of expertise include tumor surgery, wound management, reconstructive surgery, and surgery of the respiratory tract and ear, nose, and throat.

Dr. Deborah Wimmer studied veterinary medicine at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich, where she was enrolled from 2010 to 2016. She then completed an 18-month ophthalmology internship at the University Animal Hospital Zurich (2017–2018). From 2016 to 2020, she also completed her dissertation there on the topic of "Corneal and scleral permeability of desmoteplase in different species." Between 2018 and 2022, she worked as a veterinarian in general medicine, soft tissue surgery, and ophthalmology. In 2022, she obtained the GPCert Ophthalmology and has since been working as a veterinarian specializing in ophthalmology at the Specialist Center for Small Animal Medicine in Chemnitz. In 2024, she was awarded the additional title of "Ophthalmology for Small Animals and Pets."

Elena Züfle is a veterinary assistant, equine physiotherapist (DIPO), and is currently studying veterinary medicine at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. After completing her training, she worked in various animal clinics, including in surgery, and was responsible for training veterinary assistants. At the same time, she worked as a student assistant in the field of anatomy and gained extensive experience in the practical training of students. Her main areas of expertise are veterinary care, anatomy, physiotherapy, and practical training for veterinary assistants and trainees.
