Hands-on anesthesia for veterinary technicians – Safe anesthesia: An entire weekend devoted to practical anesthesia in small animal practice: From the basics to emergency simulations to special topics such as local anesthesia or special patients.
Participants will practice intensively in realistic scenarios, deepen their knowledge, and gain confidence in using anesthesia equipment, medications, and dealing with critical situations.
On Friday and Saturday, the focus is on the basics and intensive practical training: from the safe use of equipment and settings to patient positioning, intubation, and venous access to the interpretation of monitoring values. Participants also practice calculating and administering medication, heat management, and recognizing and responding correctly to anesthesia incidents. In realistic emergency simulations—including cardiac and respiratory arrest—participants also train in communication within the surgical team.
Sunday is devoted to specific topics and in-depth study: These include the use of local anesthesia, for example in dental restoration, the professional handling of problem patients, and anesthesia procedures for unusual patients.
